The mission of this project is to continue growing organic food on public land and distributing it to elders and children in need in Northampton. This project has been created to honor Paul Yeskie’s spirit of generosity that he demonstrated by doing the same thing for the last years of his life.
The tenet of “do not harm” in organic agriculture will be incorporated into the project to teach student and community volunteers the need to practice non-violence when caring for the soil. This practice fosters the belief that growing healthy food is vital not only for caring for our land but also for enriching the connections in our community for its health, too..
